Richard Petty Driving Experience offers Race Rides during Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway
(Concord, N.C.) May 31, 2012 – For the first time in history, Richard Petty Driving Experience has partnered with Kentucky Speedway to offer Race Rides during the Quaker State 400 race event weekend.
Race Rides offer the opportunity to Ride-Along shotgun in a 600hp NASCAR race car at speeds up to 160mph within hours of NASCAR drivers taking to the track. This adrenaline pumping, thrill of a lifetime is the closest race fans can get to actually being in the race!
The 1.5 mile tri-oval, built with 14 degree banking in the turns and a 1,600 foot backstretch, will give Kentucky Speedway patrons an unforgettable, high speed pre-race experience.
“A 600-horsepower wake-up call from the Richard Petty Driving Experience is an ideal way to set the tone for our Quaker State 400 race day. Our fans will definitely enjoy the chance to see our track as the drivers see it,” Kentucky Speedway General Manager Mark Simendinger said.
“Experiencing the track just hours before your favorite driver is the perfect start to an exciting race day,” says Mike Bartelli, Chief Marketing Officer of Petty Holdings, LLC and Richard Petty Driving Experience. “It’s the pep rally that gets you all revved up for the cup race Saturday night.”
Kentucky Speedway will be hosting Race Rides Saturday, June 30th between 7:00 am and 10:00 am, just hours before the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400.
