We run 600-hp NASCAR race cars that have 4-speed manual transmissions. You must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive a manual transmission (stick shift) to participate in a Driving experience.

Yes! Richard Petty Driving Experience offers monetary Gift Cards that can be used to purchase any Driving or Ride-Along experience as well as merchandise. Gift Cards can be purchased on-line, trackside or by calling at 1-800-237-3889. Minimum Gift Card purchase is $20.00.

Gift cards can be redeemed via our website, by calling 1-800-237-3889 and at trackside. Gift Cards can be used trackside to purchase Ride-Along and Driving experiences (when space is available) as well as photos, DVD’s and souvenir merchandise.
Please have your gift card with you at the time of booking/purchase as the card number (on the back of the card) as well as the PIN/security code (scratch off the silver strip on the back of the card) will be needed.
Gift Cards are valid for the monetary amount purchased. As such, any total purchase (sales tax, etc.), which exceeds the monetary value of the card will be due at the time of purchase. Gift Certificates:

Reservations are not required or accepted at most tracks. The Ride-Along program is operated at over 20 locations nationwide and generally is offered between 9am to 4pm on days we are on track at most locations on a first come, first serve basis. Ride-Alongs can be purchased on-line or by calling 1-800-237-3889 where your purchase will be delivered in the form of a monetary gift card. Ride-Alongs can also be purchased trackside.
Gift Card:
If you have a Gift Card, simply present it trackside where the balance will be verified and then the value of the Ride-Along deducted (typically $109 plus applicable sales tax). See “Ride-Along" section under the “Start Racing” button on the home page for pricing details.
Ride-Along purchases are converted to individual monetary gift cards. As such, if the recipient redeems the Ride-Along purchase (Gift Card) at a track where the experience price is more than what was paid (sales tax, and/or premium price location, etc.), the balance will be payable at the time of redemption
Ride-Along Ticket:
Paper Ride-Along tickets are no longer available for purchase. If you have a paper $99 Ride-Along Ticket, it is valid at most of our tracks excluding Daytona and Indianapolis. $99 Ride-Along tickets are not valid for Weekend Race Rides or other special Ride events. Premium Ride-Along tickets can be redeemed at Daytona.

All participants are provided with a regulation helmet and safety device, as well as a driver’s suit. Participants need to wear socks, closed-toe shoes and clothes that will be comfortable under the driver’s suit (shorts are allowed).
Not exactly. The cars do not have doors, so participants must have the ability to climb through a 15" high by 30" wide window that sits 36" from the ground. Our driving suits are available up to size 3X.
Driving Programs Restrictions: At Daytona International Speedway and Walt Disney World® Speedway you must be at least 18 years old with a valid drivers license and at all other tracks be at least 16 years old with a valid drivers license to participate in our driving experiences. Operation of a manual transmission is no longer a requirement for driving programs. A push-off start is available for participants who do not have a knowledge of how to operate a manual transmission.
Ride-Along Programs Restrictions: At all tracks you must be at least 14 years old to participate in our riding experiences.
All participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
Absolutely! We have a special seating area set-up where family and friends can watch. They are welcome to bring video recorders and cameras.
Snacks and refreshments are available for purchase at the merchandise trailer.
If we are unable to dry the track, each participant will be given the option to reschedule to a mutually agreeable date or be issued a rain certificate. Sorry, refunds are not available.
Top speed varies according to student performance, track location and limits set for each program.
To insure the utmost quality and safety, Richard Petty Driving Experience’s fleet of cars rotate in a quality assurance program as well as daily inspections prior to runs. Also, participants go through two elements of safety and instruction training, in car and on track instruction. In the event of an incident Richard Petty Driving Experience is responsible for any equipment damage and the participant covers any personal damage (per participant’s signed liability waiver).
