The fastest form of entertainment in Charlotte is behind the wheel of a 600HP NASCAR race car with Richard Petty Driving Experience at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Come out and challenge your friends and family on the track at speeds of up to 160 MPH during your next visit to the “heart of NASCAR country”.

Charlotte Motor Speedway (formerly Lowe’s Motor Speedway) is located in Concord, NC just north of Charlotte. It is a 1.5 mile quad-oval and is considered the “home track” to many NASCAR race teams.

RIDE-ALONG EXPERIENCES: Generally our Ride-Along Experience is offered between 9am to 4pm on most days we are on track at Charlotte Motor Speedway with the exception of Sunday when the Ride-Along Experience is offered between 12pm and 4pm. Check out the track schedule here. Before heading to the track call 1.800.237.3889 to confirm dates/times. Ride-Alongs are available on a first come, first serve basis.
Reservations are not required for Ride-Alongs at Charlotte Motor Speedway, except during special events and Race Rides during NASCAR event weekends. Ride-Alongs, given in the form of gift cards, do not expire and are non-refundable. Click here to purchase a Ride-Along today!
JUNIOR RIDE-ALONGS @ CHARLOTTE MOTOR SPEEDWAY: Offered during the same times as our regular Ride-Alongs, Junior Ride-Alongs are only $59 and are for children between the ages of 6 and 13 years old and at least 48 inches in height. Enjoy the thrills and excitement of riding shotgun in a race car driven around the track by a professional instructor! Junior Ride-Alongs are available for purchase at the Charlotte Motor Speedway track or online from our Ride-Along page .


DRIVING EXPERIENCES: Driving Experiences require reservations and can be purchased by clicking on the desired Experience button below. Effective 10/19/12 all driving experiences at Charlotte Motor Speedway will utilize right seat instructor format.

AMERICAN MUSCLE CAR CHALLENGE - DRIVING EXPERIENCES: This program takes place on a test track environment and has four modules, each designed to demonstrate the specific performance characteristics of the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, Dodge Challenger SRT8 392 and Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. This fee is in lieu of a "crash clause" requiring each participant to commit a certain amount that will be forfeited in the event of an incident/crash. RPDE provides that each driver who pays the $25 Driver Release Fee will not be responsible for most damage to the car resulting from an incident/crash at the track. Only in the event that a driver intentionally or negligently fails to follow instructions which leads to an incident/crash will RPDE seek financial recompense for resulting damage to the vehicle.
